Carrot Tower Defense Extreme Mode Build

Team templates and placement rules for clearing 40 waves at 1 base HP — zero leaks, maximum 500-carrot payout.

Last checked: June 2026

Extreme Mode builds in Carrot Tower Defense differ completely from normal farming. Your base has 1 HP, enemies run 40 waves, and a full clear pays 500 carrots — but a single nibbler reaching the end fails the entire run. That zero-margin ruleset demands ultra-rare units, full-path coverage from wave 1, and economy to fund upgrades without gaps. This page documents proven Extreme loadouts, map picks, and wave priorities. Read the Extreme Mode guide for unlock flow and pair with economy build for Farmer Bunny scaling.

Minimum Viable Extreme Roster

Do not queue Extreme until you own at least one S-tier damage dealer and reliable economy. Recommended core from the tier list:

  • Farmer Bunny (A-tier economy) — One by wave 2, second by wave 6–8 on 40-wave maps. Funds upgrades that normal-mode players skip.
  • Goo Rabbit (S-tier, 1.5% summon) — Track slows multiply effective DPS and catch fast leaks. Mandatory on bend-heavy Deep Tunnels.
  • Ninja Rabbit (S-tier, 0.1% summon) OR Carrot Magician (S-tier AoE) — Line pierce or magic blasts for boss waves and carrier cleanup.
  • Support slot — Nerd Rabbit debuffs or Sniper Bunny for straight segments if Ninja is unavailable.

Starter-only rosters can theoretically clear wave 1 Extreme, but wave 20+ combinations of camo, carriers, and wheelers end runs without S-tier tools. Master early game builds on normal first.

Template A: Goo Control (Deep Tunnels)

Best for players with Goo Rabbit and strong macro placement:

  1. Wave 1 — Bonker or Sniper on first bend; Farmer off-choke immediately.
  2. Wave 3–5 — Deploy Goo patches on longest bends (up to 3–5 zones after upgrades).
  3. Wave 8–12 — Add Carrot Magician or Ninja on primary straight for boss DPS.
  4. Wave 15+ — Second Farmer if upgrade budget allows; hold cash before Gloster per boss guide.
  5. Wave 30–40 — Max slow zones overlapping wheeler paths; no experimental placements.

Goo's slow stacks with behind-line tower DPS — place goo zones where nibblers linger longest, not where towers already one-shot weak enemies.

Template B: Ninja Pierce (Woodlands / Straights)

Woodlands and long straight segments reward Ninja Rabbit's line attacks:

  1. Seal every straight with Ninja or Sniper coverage — one gap fails Extreme.
  2. Farmer Bunny ×2 by mid-game for upgrade runway.
  3. Goo Rabbit on inner bends only if summoned; otherwise Boom Rabbit for carrier sacks.
  4. Save burst upgrades for Dmer General quest waves if active — boss guide.

Ninja at 0.1% summon rate means many players substitute Carrot Magician — compare stats on unit comparison before committing carrots.

Wave 1 Extreme: Why You Keep Losing

Extreme gives 1 HP from the first nibbler. New Extreme players often copy normal-mode sparse placement — that loses on wave 1–3. Cover 100% of the path from wave 1 with at least one tower per segment. Upgrade before buying cosmetics. Enable auto-skip only when placement is sealed — see PC controls or mobile controls for skip settings.

Camo and carriers appear earlier than normal — review special enemies before queueing. If you lack detection, normal mode until you summon Nerd Rabbit or unlock camo upgrades.

Is Extreme Worth 500 Carrots?

Yes when clear rate exceeds ~50% over ten runs — 500 carrots beats repeated normal wins for summon grinding toward Ninja Rabbit. No when you fail 80% of attempts; farm normal, vault 1416 (vault codes), and economy stacks instead. Track ROI with the summon calculator after each clear.

Extreme Checklist Before Queue

  • At least one S-tier DPS summoned and slotted.
  • Dual Farmer economy planned by wave 8.
  • Camo detection covered — no blind segments.
  • Map picked for your roster (tunnels for Goo, straights for Ninja).
  • No scripts — automation risks bans on progress accounts.
  • Patch notes checked on latest update and official Discord.

Extreme Mode is the endgame carrot faucet that funds S-tier summons. Build discipline on early game, scale income on economy, then return here for loadout templates as balance patches shift the meta.
